Drake’s Nothing Was the Same remains a defining moment in his discography, and the album’s final track, "Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2," offers a reflective closer that lingers with its laid-back groove. Released in 2013, this introspective cut sits at track 13, blending smooth production with Drake’s signature introspection. The track’s title hints at a playful yet melancholic tone, capturing the album’s shift from high-energy moments to quieter, more personal moments.

The song’s name references a mix of nostalgia and simplicity, with "Pound Cake" evoking warmth and tradition, while "Paris Morton Music 2" suggests a creative evolution. Though often overlooked in discussions of Nothing Was the Same, the track’s atmospheric build and Drake’s measured delivery give it a distinct character. Its placement near the end of the album feels intentional, serving as a quiet reflection on the journey captured throughout.

Fans of Drake’s more contemplative work will appreciate the track’s understated charm, where the melody and lyrics create a sense of closure. While not a standout single, "Pound Cake / Paris Morton Music 2" stands as a subtle yet meaningful piece in an album known for its emotional depth.
