Appel’s latest collaboration, "Jy Sallie" featuring Ichnus, blends smooth vocals with a rich, layered sound that draws from both soulful melodies and rhythmic depth. Murray Lubbe handles production, mixing, and programming, crafting a track where Appel’s lead vocals sit effortlessly alongside Ichnus’s own dynamic delivery. Brendan Ross contributes saxophone, adding a warm, textured quality, while Juan Floors Oosthuizen’s acoustic and electric guitar work grounds the arrangement in a warm, organic feel. Murray Lubbe also steps in on bass and backing vocals, ensuring the track maintains a cohesive, polished sound.

The production balances intimate instrumentation with a fuller, more expansive feel, making it a standout in Appel’s discography. Christoph Kotze handles the songwriting, crafting lyrics that resonate with natural storytelling, while Paulo Azevedo’s contributions add subtle depth to the arrangement. The result is a track that feels both intimate and expansive, where each element, from the saxophone to the layered vocals, works in harmony to create something fresh and engaging.
