Alicia Keys delivers a soaring, introspective anthem with "How It Feels to Fly," the soulful closer from The Element of Freedom. This track blends her signature piano-driven elegance with a production that balances raw emotion and cinematic depth, crafted in collaboration with Kerry "Krucial" Brothers. The arrangement unfolds with a tender melody, where Keys’ voice carries both vulnerability and triumph, weaving a narrative of resilience and liberation.

The song’s production shines with its dynamic contrast, soft, intimate verses giving way to a swelling, uplifting chorus that feels like a weight lifted. Brothers’ touch adds texture without overpowering, letting Keys’ delivery remain the focal point as she explores themes of freedom and self-discovery. The track’s final moments build into a crescendo, leaving a sense of exhilaration that mirrors its title.

As the thirteenth track on the album, "How It Feels to Fly" serves as a fitting capstone, offering a moment of pure catharsis. The blend of Keys’ poetic lyricism and the production’s spacious, atmospheric quality makes it a standout moment on The Element of Freedom, where every note feels intentional and deeply moving.
