Alicia Keys delivers a soul-stirring reimagining of Nas’s iconic anthem with "Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down," a standout track from her album The Element of Freedom. Co-produced by Keys and Al Shux, the song blends raw vulnerability with rhythmic depth, transforming the original’s bold energy into a more intimate, reflective experience. The collaboration between Keys and Shux crafts a sound that lingers, weaving her signature piano-driven sensibilities with the track’s hypnotic beats.

This version of the song sits as the fourteenth track on The Element of Freedom, offering a fresh perspective on a New York anthem. Keys’ powerful vocals and the production’s layered textures create a moment of quiet strength, making it a highlight for fans of both her artistry and the original’s legacy. The track’s emotional weight and production finesse make it a compelling addition to her discography.
